CommentSubspecies: Lygodactylus scheffleri laterimaculatus PASTEUR 1964 has been elevated to full species level. 
EtymologyNamed after the collector of the types, Mr. Scheffler.

L. s. ulugurensis was named after its type locality in the Uluguru mountains.
