Diagnosis 
CommentTyphlops castanotus has a distinctly bicolored pattern without a head to vent reduction in the number of pigmented scale rows on the dorsum. 
Etymologynamed after the latinized Greek “kastanea” = brown, and “notos” = back, for its body color.
