Type locality: between Ambohimanana and Fiadanana, 690 m elevation , Ikongo Fivondronana, Fianarantsoa Province (21° 28.61’S, 47°33..83’ E).

CommentMatoatoa sp. have adhesive tail pads and NUSSBAUM et al. discuss such pads in other species of geckos.
