Diagnosis 
CommentThe original description assigned Inirída to “Süd-Venezuela” with is now Colombia.

Type Species: Mesobaena huebneri is the type species of the genus Mesobaena MERTENS 1925. 
EtymologyNamed after George Huebner (1862-1935), German photographer and collector of the type who traveled in Brazil and Peru (1885-1888).
