DistributionMexico (Michoacán, Guerrero)

Type locality: Regiones Cálidas del Estado de Michoacán. Later designated by Dugès as Apatzingán de la Constitución, Michoacán.

TypesHolotype: MDUG HE 397 = Museo “Alfredo Dugès” in colegio del Estado de Guanajuato in Guanajuato (no number fide SMITH & TAYLOR 1950). Collected by Federico Altamirano.

Comment 
EtymologyNamed after Federico Altamirano who collected the holotype in Mexico. Altamirano was a pharmacist in Mexico City in the 1870s-1880s and studied plant extracts.
