DistributionW Pakistan (Quetta, N Belutschistan = Baluchistan)

Type locality: “Kach (Quetta Division), West Pakistan on the abandoned rail line between Ziarat and Quetta at an altitude of about 6,500 feet”.
Reproductionoviparous
TypesHolotype: AMNH 93003, juvenile female, paratype: NMSZ 1964.58.1, adult male
DiagnosisDiagnosis. Differs from all other members of the genus (1) in the presence of a pair of preanal pores in the adult male, (2) in a pattern of strongly defined dark bands without light edges and without tendency to blend into the ground color, and (3) in absence or marked reduction of postmentals. In all other members of the genus, males lack preanal pores; dorsal dark bands are absent, or tend to fade into the ground color or are margined by narrow light bands; a large pair of anterior postmentals is always present and a smaller posterior pair is nearly always present. Differs from helenae and allied forms in the absence of enlarged internasal and postrostral scales. The decided flattening of the head, body, and tail in depressus is evident when live or carefully fixed and stored specimens are compared. Unfortunately many museum specimens of these tiny, delicate lizards are shrunken or distorted, and the value of this character is vitiated (Minton & Anderson 1965).
