Type locality: New Zealand. Collected from “Kundy Island [spelt "Cundy" on the label] (47°7'S, 167°33'E), in the Boat Group, west of Stewart Island” (Thomas 1981)

Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Hoplodactylus nebulosus has been considered a synonym of H. granulatus previously (e.g. THOMAS 1981).
