Type locality: Benguela, Angola [lectotype]  
Reproductionoviparous (manual imputation, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesLectotype: BMNH 1864.6.14.5, designated by Broadley and Watson (1976:483). 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: Skull with paired parietals with a small foramen on the midline. There is an anterior supralabial and the posterior supralabial does not reach the level of the eye. Middorsals 293-35; subcaudals 21-3; 1 scale rows on tail; total length/diameter ratio 66-78; total length/tail ratio 12.-2.9. Snout rounded.
Coloration: Pale brown above, white below [from BROADLEY 1999].

CommentSynonymy: McDIARMID et al. (1999) listed this species as a synonym of L. scutifrons.

Sternfeld (1908:94) proposed Glauconia latifrons as a new name for the specimens described as Glauconia scutifrons by Boulenger (1893:68). 
EtymologyNamed after New Latin latus (= "broad") and frōns (= "forehead, front"). It is probably a reference to broad forehead of the species.
