Distribution	Sri Lanka Type locality: 16 mi. N Trincomalee near shore, on small hillock at an elevation of about 10 m.

Comment	Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017).
Etymology	Named after Professor Paulus Edward Peiris Deraniyagala (1900-1976), a scientist and zoologist who was Director ofall National Museums, Ceylon (Sri Lanka) (1939-1963).
