DistributionMyanmar (= Burma), Thailand, Cambodia, West Malaysia, Indonesia (Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Bangka, Belitung), Vietnam, Singapore

Type locality: "in India Orientali," later restricted to "Sumatra; Singapore" by Gray (1863:177).

Type species: Emys platynotha GRAY 1834 is the type species of the genus Notochelys GRAY 1863: 177.

Habitat: freshwater (Rivers, swamps)

Karyotype: 2n = 52 (Carr and Bickham 1986)
