Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Lobulia stellaris differs from all other species of Lobulia in having the following combination of characters: window in lower eyelid somewhat variable in size, opacity and scaliness; supralabials posterior to the subocular supralabial two; longitudinal scale rows at midbody >32, and anterior edge of the external ear opening smooth, without lobules. |

Etymology | Named after the high altitude distribution of the species (close to the stars, Latin “stellaris”) and after its occurrence in the Star Mountains of Papua New Guinea. |
