CommentConservation: Rare, threatened, or endangered species. 
EtymologyLeiolopisma macgregori was named for William Roy McGregor (8. vii.1894–1977.vi.1), the inaugural lecturer in charge of the Zoology Department at the University of Auckland and Joan Robb’s mentor. See Shea 2016: 48 for more biographical details.
