Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: note that Oreosaurus is different from Oreosaura Barabanov & Ananjeva 2007, a subgenus of Phrynocephalus. 
EtymologyNamed after Greek achlyoo (ἀχλυόω), darken, make dim; become gloomy, grow dark. [“...The name achlyens is from the Greek, ἀχλυόω, ‘to grow dark.’...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
