Type locality: between Las Melenas and Cerro Humo, approx. 650 [elevation], Península de Paria, Sucre state, Venezuela.

Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after the Greek rhodon (a rose, hence red) þ gaster (belly); in allusion to the reddish venter observed in males of this species. The species name is a noun in apposition.
