CommentP. formosus is listed by KLUGE (1993) as a valid species with question mark. LAMB & BAUER (2000) revalidated formosus to full species status. Distribution not yet corrected for elevation of P. rugosus formosus to species status. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin formosus, beautiful, finely formed, handsome.
