CommentAbundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024.
EtymologyMonard doesn’t give a specific etymology for the species, but does note that the types were found by a native from an adjacent village (Translation: “These three specimens were brought to me by a young native from a neighboring village, Ngések, who had found them while cultivating his fields. I showed them several times to my usual collectors who did not know the species or were unable to find it.”). The name is likely based on the genitive of a group of people (Duru plus the feminine plural genitive suffix -arum, meaning “Belonging to the Duru”). The Duru are a language group from the northern Cameroon, and the paper is based on collections from this region. (Glenn Shea, pers. comm., 2 Feb 2024)
