Diagnosis | Diagnosis (nesobous): A subspecies of D. costatus characterized by small adult size, dorsal pattern of scattered dots and virtually non-existent nuchal lines (Fig. 6), heavily marbled head in large specimens, immaculate throat, and small number of ventral scales between mental and vent. Etymology | Named from the Greek νήσος (= island) and Greek bous (cow) in reference to the type locality of this species on Île-à-Vache (Cow Island). |
