DistributionMicronesia: Tetau Island (Carolines) and Greenwich Islands (Kapingamarangi Atoll, State of Pohnpei).

Type locality: Greenwich Islands.

EtymologyNamed after Latin scutellum (small shield) plus -atus (made of), possibly in reference to the subcaudal scalation.
