DistributionMexico (from North of the Isthmus of La Paz, northward to at least Rancho Santa Catarina and Isla Danzante)

Type locality: Commundu, Lower California.  
TypesHolotype: CAS 633 
CommentP. t. repens has a thin, black, postorbital stripe; one row of scales between the nasal and the supralbials, and reaches a maximum SVL of 111 mm. P. t. thalassinus lacks a postorbital stripe, has two scale rows between the nasals and supralabials, and reaches 162 mm SVL (GRISMER 1999).
