Type locality: Pailles, 5 km southwest of Port Louis, Mauritius.  
Reproductionoviparous. Exhibits temperature‐dependent sex determination (TSD) fide Cornejo-Páramo et al. 2020 (and references therein).

Diagnosis 
CommentPhelsuma guimbeaui rosagularis has been elevated to species status by AUSTIN et al. based on DNA evidence. 
Etymologynamed after B. Guimbeau.
