CommentMember of the Phelsuma dubia (phenetic) group (GLAW, VENCES & ZIEGLER 1999). 
EtymologyThe original describer, O. Boettger considered the generic allocation (to Pachydactylus) as “dubious” and thus named the species accordingly.
