Diagnosis 
CommentMember of the Phelsuma lineata (phenetic) group (GLAW, VENCES & ZIEGLER 1999).

Subspecies: Phelsuma quadriocellata parva MEIER 1983 has been elevated to full species status.

Max length: 110 mm (quadriocellata, bimaculata), 125 mm (lepida), 90 mm (parva). 
EtymologyNamed after the four (Latin “quattuor) eye-shaped (Latin “oculus” = eye) spots (Latin “ocellatus”) in certain subspecies.
