Type locality: Miranda, Mato Grosso, Brazil (the state of Mato Grosso was subdivided and Miranda is now in the Mato Grosso do Sul state). Neotype locality: “Taunay, Mato Grosso do Sul (-20.2858° S, -56.0847° W), Brazil”

ternetzii: Type locality: “Bemalcue” in Paraguay, actually “Bernal Cué” (Departamento Cordillera, Paraguay) (Cacciali & Wuest 2009).

TypesNeotype: SMF 49990 (designated by Cacciali et al. 2016); Holotype: MLP, an 1195 mm female (C. Bach), now lost (Ferraro & Williams 2006).

CommentSynonymy after AMARAL 1929, PETERS & OREJAS-MIRANDA 1970, CEI 1993, and CACCIALI et al. 2016. Philodryas Erlandi LÖNNBERG 1902 was removed from the synonymy of Philodryas mattogrossensis by CACCIALI et al. 2016.
