Distribution	Republic of South Africa (Western Cape to Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, NE Free State, W Eswatini (Swaziland), Mpumalanga, Limpopo, N Gauteng, NW Province). Type locality: Camperdown, Natal (=Camperdown, KwaZulu-Natal), approximately 50 km west of Durban
Reproduction	oviparous
Types	Holotype: NMZB (formerly UM = Umtali Museum) 4554, an adult female, collected by B. G. Donnelly on 4th October, 1962; paratypes: PEM

Etymology	The specific name occidentalis (Latin) refers to the western distribution of this species.
