Comment	Synonymy: VENCES et al. 2004 synonymized Stenophis (Phisalixella) tulearensis DOMERGUE 1994 with Stenophis variabilis (now Phisalixella variabilis). NAGY et al. 2010 revalidated tulearensis. WALLACH et al. 2014: 675 maintain tulearensis as synonym of Stenophis variabilis. Habitat: fully arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018).
Etymology	Named after the type locality.
