CommentGrismer (1999) synonymized Phyllodactylus homolepidurus nolascoensis with Phyllodactylus homolepidurus without giving specific reasons.

Subspecies: Phyllodactylus homolepidurus nolascoensis has been elevated to full species status. 
EtymologyDerived from the Latin word homo, meaning “equal, uniform,” and lepido, meaning “scale,” in reference to the similar sizes of scales on the body of this taxon (LEMOS ESPINAL ET AL. 2015).
