DistributionMexico (Isla Partida)

Type locality: Isla Partida, Baja California
Reproductionoviparous
TypesHolotype: CAS 98429, adult male; Paratypes SDNHM = SDSNH 6834-6836, 39258, 39649, 40508, 50820-50822
DiagnosisDiagnosis: A large gecko, average snout-vent length 53.3 mm, differing from all other insular forms in having a combination of a high number of snout scales and a low number of tubercles in a paravertebral row from rear of head to base of tail (Dixon 1966: 445, who examined 34 specimens but gave a detailed description only for the holotype).
CommentAbundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017).

Distribution: see map in RAMÍREZ-REYES et al. 2021: Fig. 1.
EtymologyDIXON used “partitus” in the text of his description but “partidus” in Figure 2. The name derives from the type locality (Isla Partida) and thus “partidus” seems to be a justified emendation.
