CommentType species: Phyllodactylus pulcher GRAY 1828: 3 is the type species of the genus Phyllodactylus GRAY 1828: 3.

Type genus: Phyllodactylus is also the type genus of the family Phyllodactylidae.

Abundance: Rare. This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin “pulcher” = beautiful, handsome, fine, fair.

The genus was named after Greek phyllon = leaf, and Greek dactylos = finger, for its leaf-shaped toe pads.
