Comment | Synonymy: Oligodon kunmingensis KOU & WU 1993 is a synonym of P. blakewayi [Kucharzewski 2009, Sauria 31: 56]. A detailed description of this species can be found in TILLACK et al. 2006. P. blakewayi has been considered as a synonym of P. nuchalis. Plagiopholis unipostocularis has been synonymized with Plagiopholis blakewayi by ZHONG et al. 2015. Type species: Plagiopholis blakewayi BOULENGER 1893: 301 is the type species of the genus Plagiopholis BOULENGER 1893. |
Etymology | Named after Lieutenant Blakeway who resigned from the British army (1861) and collected reptiles in Toungyi, South Shan States (Myanmar) (1890s) (Beolens et al. 2011). |
