Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Ventrals 199 – 204 (all males), subcaudals 108 – 112 (maximum from complete tail?), sum thereof 307– 314 (possibly slightly more). Dorsals in 19-19-13 or 19- 19-11 rows. Rostral shield 1.44 – 1.78 times broader than high. Dorsum with two or four longitudinal rows of spots (posterior trunk without pattern) or devoid of markings throughout (plain). From geographically close or sympatric congenerics, Platyceps noeli differs in, for instance, the absence of a postsubocular (vis-à-vis P. k. karelini) or lower ventral and subcaudals counts (P. mintonorum, P. r. rhodorachis, see Morphology and Distribution, Distinction in Schätti et al.). |
