Type locality: San Francisquito, Sierra de la Laguna, Baja California.  
Reproductionoviparous (phylogenetic imputation, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesNeotype: USNM 67398. Designated by Taylor (1936). Original syntypes: CAS 400 and 402 (destroyed in the earthquake of 1906).

CommentPhylogenetics: P. lagunensis appears to be nested within P. skiltonianus in the analysis of RICHMOND (2006).
