Diagnosis | Diagnosis: “GL bis 220 mm. Kleine gedrungen gebaute Art, die sich von P. sicula durch kürzeren Kopf, geringere KR (meist unter 60 mm) sowie ein größeres Massetericum, welches meist ein Supratemporale berührt, und durch normalerweise deutlich ausgeprägte Supraciliarstreifen unterschei det. Eine Abgrenzung gegenüber P. taurica ist durch die geringere Körper größe und ein wesentlich schwächer gezähneltes Halsband gegeben. Comment | Subspecies: SINDACO & JEREMCENKO 2008 recognize only two subspecies (based on Thorpe 1980). RADOVANOVIC 1956: 13 also mentions Lacerta melisellensis argus Schreiber, of unknown status. Synonymy: partly after TIEDEMANN et al. 1994 and Igor Doronin (pers. comm., Nov. 2018) This species has male color morphs with orange, yellow, and bluish/white bellies/heads (Huyghe et al. 2012). |
