Diagnosis 
CommentHas been considered as synonym of Neusticurus ecpleopus (e.g. by PETERS & DONOSO-BARROS 1970).

Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin ocellatus, having ocelli, little eyes or buttonholes (in the sense of round spots). [“...a series of white, black-edged ocelli usually present on the sides...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
