Diagnosis	Diagnosis: A small species of Pristurus (SVL less than 30 mm). Head separated from body by a distinctly constricted neck. Snout long, narrow, anteriorly roundish but nonetheless pointed. Tail laterally compressed, a high dorsal and ventral tail crest in the males, lower in females. Tail laterally with distinct longitudinal groove. Autotomy sutures of tail not restricted to the tail base. Rostral narrower than mental. Nostril touches rostral. 6-7 supralabials, 4-5 infralabials, 1 internasal, 3-4 postmentals, 117-121 SB, and 21-22 LT4. Dorsum grey, with 7-8 short dark transverse bands, dorsally and laterally small light spots and orange-coloured ocelli. Lower parts brownish-yellow, throat with large, dark flecks and numerous dark antehumeral spots. Limbs and tail grey, banded with dark. By combining these characters, Pristurus schneideri is distinguished from all its congeners. For comparisons with already known species see discussion and table 2 in RÖSLER et al. (2008).
Comment	Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024.
Etymology	We dedicate this species to Wolfgang Schneider (HLMD), not only because he collected the type series and thus made the description possible, but also in recognition of his valuable contributions to the zoology of the Middle East.
