CommentPristurus longipes PETERS 1871 has been treated as synonym of Pristurus crucifer previously.

Records from Socotra Island (STEINDACHNER 1903) may be based on misidentification of P. sokotranus which is very variable in coloration and patterning (LOVERIDGE 1947 and WRANIK & RÖSLER 2000).

Sexual dimorphism: “Bei dieser Art besteht ausgesprochener Geschlechtsdimorphismus, da bei den erwachsenen Männchen der Schwanz auf der Ober- und Unterseite gut gekielt ist, während er bei den Weibchen rundlich oder nur oben gekielt ist, was auch bei jungen Männchen der Fall zu sein scheint.” (Tornier 1905: 367).
