Type locality: Goolis Mountains, 60 miles inwards of Berbera, Somalia.

Diagnosis 
CommentPristurus somalicus PARKER 1932 has been removed form synonymy of Pristurus phillipsii by ARNOLD 1993. 
EtymologyNamed after Ethelbert Lort Phillips (1857-ca. 1926), a British traveler, hunter, and collector who shot big game in many parts of the world. He traveled in East Africa (1884-1895) and explored parts of Somaliland (now Somalia).
