Etymology | Named after a location in Australia, Queen Victoria Spring, rather than directly after the British monarch. The genus Proablepharus was apparently named after the Latin pro (before) plus Ablepharus (the scincid genus from which this genus was separated). Derivation not stated by Fuhn (1970). |
