CommentSynonymy: Prosymna meleagris var. collaris STERNFELD 1908 was synonymized with P. meleagris by LOVERIDE 1958 but Trape 2023 revalidated P. collaris from subspecies status of greigerti.

EtymologyNamed after the Latin word collāris, meaning collar, for the white collar shape band on the neck of the species.
