Type locality: Kwamgumi Forest Reserve, Muheza District, Tanga Region, Tanzania (4° 56’ S, 38° 44’ E).  
TypesHolotype: NMZB 13732 
CommentProsymna semifasciata belongs to the Prosymna ambigua group and is apparently most closely related to P. ornatissima Barbour & Loveridge.
