Type locality: “Matlale (S. Ostafrika)” [N Transvaal] [PETERS 1871]  
TypesHolotype: ZMB 7257 [Temnorhynchus lineatus PETERS 1871] 
CommentNomenclature: Temnorhynchus is pre-occupied by a beetle genus.

Synonymy: partly after LOVERIDGE 1958.

Subspecies: Prosymna sundevalli lineata (PETERS 181) is now considered as a valid species.

Distribution not correced for removal of lineata.
