Distribution: see map in Guo et a. 2016: 8 (Fig. 1). Note that longitude and latitude have been inverted in the original paper. The coordinates here are correct.

Conservation: one of the 30 most endangered viper species (Maritz et al. 2016). 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality in the Dabie Mountains.
