Type locality: “Calcutta”; in error fide ZHAO & ADLER 1993.

TypesHolotype: ZMB 5004; additional material: ZMB 31134-31135, from Margherita, in Patkai Mountains, Upper Assam (fide ANANJEVA & STUART 2001). 
DiagnosisDiagnosis (genus): see P. collicristatus. 
CommentType species: Otocryptis (Ptyctolaemus) gularis PETERS 1864 is the type species of the genus Ptyctolaemus PETERS 1864.

Distribution: possibly in Bhutan (Lenz 2012). Possibly in Yunnan (China) but records from there are questionable (Wang et al. 2022).
