CommentSubspecies: The subspecies brongersmai and breitensteini have been elevated to species status.

Distribution: Not listed for Thailand by DAVID et al. (2004). Reports from Singapore appear to represent Malayopython reticulatus (Figueroa et al. 2023). 
EtymologyThe specific epithet curtus (Latin) means short or incomplete, possibly referring to the short overall body length.
