Etymology | Named after Latin bipartitus (bipartītus [“bisected”, "divided"]), past participle of bipartire "to divide into two parts," from bi- "two" + partitus, past participle of partiri "to divide." It refers to clearly distinctive two colors of dorsal and ventral parts of the species. |
