DiagnosisDiagnosis: Differs from other races in having a combination of 12 scale rows around the tail, 7 to 9 pigmented dorsalmost scale rows, less than 257 dorsals (231-257, x = 242) and more than 15 (x =17) subcaudals. (Hahn 1979)

CommentSynonymy: Listed as synonym or subspecies of Rena humilis by Heimes 2016: 30. R. tenuicula has been considered a synonym of L. dugesii but Flores-Villela et al. 2022 consider it as a synonym of R. dulcis.

Distribution: Reported from but not in Jalisco fide CRUZ-SÁENZ et al. 2017. Not in Sonora fide Lemos-Espinal et al. 2019. 
EtymologyNamed in honor of Alfred Dugès, the father of Mexican herpetology.
