From R. godmani it can be distinguished by its vivid reddish orange ventral coloration in life (versus bright golden yellow to white in R. godmani), the absence of a pale collar behind the head (a pale tan to yellow collar is usually present immediately behind the head in R. godmani, but collar may be broken into pale spots in some specimens), by having possibly more subcaudals (96 in male holotype of R. rogerromani; 78-95 subcaudals in male R. godmani, the sulcus spermaticus forking on the lower part of the spinose midsection with its branches nearly parallel (sulcus spermaticus forking near the edge of the capitulum with its branches widely divergent in R. godmani) (Köhler & McCranie 1999: 244). |
