CommentSyonymy: Kluge (2001) considers Rhinogekko as synonym of Agamura.

Similar species: This species is doubtfully distinct from R. femoralis (ANDERSON 1999: 179)

Type species: Rhinogekko misonnei DE WITTE 1973 is the type species of the genus Rhinogekko DE WITTE 1973. Note that the original spelling by de Witte was “Rhinogekko”.

Distribution: See map in SMID et al. 2014 for distribution in Iran. 
EtymologyNamed after Xavier Misonne, Belgian zoologist and anthropologist.

The genus was named after Greek ris, rhinos = nose, after the protuberance on the snout of this species.
