Type locality: Farm Twyfelfontein (about 20°37’S, 14°20’E, district Outjo, SWA (now Namibia).  
Reproductionoviparous (manual and phylogenetic imputation, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesHolotype: DNMNH (= TM) 28238 
DiagnosisDIAGNOSIS: A northern subspecies of the typical form, distinguishable by the presence of two enlarged preanal scales, bearing one pore each in males (Plate 3) but without pores in females (Plate 4). In females a dark spot may or may not be visible on these enlarged scales in the position where the pore exists in the males.” (Haacke 1965)

EtymologyNamed after Greek di- (δι-), two; double + Greek poros (πόρος), passage; hole, for the two pores in the pre-anal scales (in males).
