Reproduction
TypesHolotype: MCZ 44703, adult female, collected by Gerd
Heinrich, October 10, 1937. Paratypes (n=4): MCZ
DiagnosisDiagnosis (n=5). Allied to Riopa guentheri, from which the new form differs in possessing fewer lamellae under the tourth toe, much shorter limbs and digits, a smaller ear opening, and in being apparently of smaller size; also allied to Riopa anguina, from which popae differs in having a larger scale count down the middle of the back, a larger number of scale rows at mid body, and a slightly smaller ear opening. Popae appears to differ a bit from guentheri in coloration. However, in coloration anguina and popae are very similar to each other, if not absolutely alike. (Shreve 1940)
