Type Locality: La Gloria, Oaxaca, Mexico.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: A Sceloporus closely related to Sceloporus m. malachiticus, with supraoculars in one row; median frontonasal separated from lateral frontonasals; dorsal scales large; shoulder patches absent or if present separated dorsally by 6 or 7 scale rows; no supraoculars in contact with median head scales; 2 rows of scales between nasals and rostral; 2 rows of scales between nasals and first labial; internasal area broken up into many very small, rounded scales (Smith & Bumzahem 1955).

CommentSynonymy: this species has been considered as a synonym of S. salvini by Smith and Perez-Higareda (1992).
